Playground Safety
Playground Safety is a training program for teachers and extended day staff to review playground safety and supervision. Playground inspections are done each month by the Plant Operator and annually by the Safety Officer. The inspection form can be accessed by clicking the link below.

Bloodborne Pathogens
This program covers those employees in high risk positions. Please click on the link below for more information on this program.

Biohazardous Waste
This is a program affecting anyone that will be handling biohazardous waste material, primarily clinic staff, plant operators and custodial staff. The operating plan is listed below in the documents section.

Hazardous Communication (HazCom)
This is a federal mandated program to educate and update employees on the chemicals they work with or could be exposed to, review and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Drills
Fire Drills - Each school is required to have a minimum of 12 fire drills a year. Two are to be done in the first month of the school year. Each school has a fire inspection yearly. Questions concerning drills and any other fire related issues should be directed to the Safety Officer.
Tornado Drills – Two tornado drills are to be done annually –These are scheduled for September and February.
Lockdown Drills – There are to be two lockdown drills held annually.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
This program is designed for employees that are assigned to use the AED at school sites or athletic events. More on this program can be found by clicking the link below.

Based on State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF), fire code, and other best practices, the document below has some good information on things to remember when setting up your classroom.
